Our History

Derby 2018 Grand Forks Fair

In the late summer of 2017 Demolition Derby was brought to the Grand Forks Fall Fair.  With the support of the Fall Fair and a dedicated committee group that includes  Wes Tetlock, Darrell  and Corinna Chard, Craig & Jan Beliveau, Rod & Kerry Plotnikoff, Darcey Yates Roberts,  Jason and Kelly McIver, Paul Whitford, Kristin Tetlock

The committee worked hard and it paid off. The show was a hit with spectators and a saviour to the fair as they were struggling for attendance.

2018 brought an even more exciting show, more cars, more spectators, Kids Power Wheels Derby and a professional events crew to help with running and promoting the show. Light Up The Sky Events brought a crew from throughout BC.

With the help of a great crew 2019 is bound for even more excitement. Stay Tuned...

Welcome To Grand Forks

Our delightful community is home to beautiful tree lined streets and heritage homes. Its downtown core and bustling city centre, located on Market Avenue, offers quaint cafes, galleries and the City Hall. Grand Forks boasts four season living with recreational activities to match. This small community has been home to a large Doukhobor population since the early 1900´s and continues to celebrate and embrace their rich culture.

Grand Forks is the perfect backdrop for families and retirees, with a strong commitment to healthy living, affordability and great quality of life. Incorporated in 1897, Grand Forks is the “hub” of the Boundary Region, located between the Okanagan Valley and the Kootenays. Our community is surrounded by fresh, pristine water from the Granby and Kettle Rivers and is nestled in a breathtaking and unique east/west running Valley.

Our central location means that we are only a couple of hours drive from 2 major centres; Spokane and Kelowna and that the closest regional airport is a 1 hour drive to Castlegar or a 2 hour drive to Kelowna to the International airport.

If it’s rugged recreation, clean living or new opportunities that you’re after, Grand Forks offers it all.car shows near you!
